Lesson from my journey

The most common and consequential mistake I see among early-stage founders is prioritisation. With limited resources, the question is never just what to build - it is what to build first, and what to stop building. The ability to course-correct quickly, without ego, is what separates the companies that compound from the ones that stall.

Philosophy

I have always been drawn to hard problems - not as a matter of preference, but as a matter of necessity. Work that lacks complexity tends to lose my attention quickly. AI and DeepTech are natural homes for that orientation: they combine technical depth, genuine uncertainty, and the potential for large-scale impact in a way few other domains do. What motivates me most in this work is not finding companies - it is working closely with the founders we have backed, helping them solve the problems that are actually in their way. When I can help a founder gain clarity, build momentum, and cross a milestone that matters, that is the part of this job I find most fulfilling.

Journey

I have 28 years of professional experience and have been with Kalaari for nearly 12 years. I came into venture unexpectedly - I was thinking about building my own product company in India, and venture found me before I found it. Before that, I built products across startups and large enterprises. I started in engineering, moved into product management when I saw the gap between business requirements and what was being built, and eventually took full P&L ownership. The formative experience was a startup called Mod League, where I learned what it really means to build from scratch - setting up teams, selling to large enterprises, and navigating the hard realities of limited resources. At Oracle, I had the chance to see how structured product development works at scale, building enterprise products with beta customers from some of the world's largest pharma and manufacturing companies.

Perspective

I am deeply involved in the portfolio - working with founders on product strategy, GTM, customer introductions, and early revenue acceleration. I keep a running sheet of weekly introductions across the portfolio and am focused on helping companies cross their first meaningful revenue milestones. Outside of work, I cherish time with my family. I also have a lasting passion for reading, music, mathematics, and sport.

Lesson from my journey
We have an almost unlimited capacity to underestimate ourselves, and my hope is simply to help people dream big often far beyond what they initially believe is possible.
