Lesson from my journey

Trust is the organizational currency built through consistency and intent. Empathy enables better decisions, while simplicity scales better than complexity. Strong cultures are not defined by noise, but by the quiet, consistent alignment of human judgment and collaboration.

VP, HR
Philosophy

I’ve always been drawn to understanding what makes people and teams truly work. Not just function, but thrive!

‍

Over time, this has shaped a simple but deeply held belief: people are the most compounding form of capital. In venture, where outcomes take years to unfold, the quality of people decisions often defines the quality of those outcomes.

‍

I believe in building high-trust, high-ownership environments where individuals feel a strong sense of purpose and accountability. The strongest organisations are built on clarity rather than complexity, ownership rather than hierarchy, and long-term alignment rather than short-term optimisation.

‍

For me, culture is not something you state—it’s something you experience, consistently and quietly, every day.

Journey

My journey into HR wasn’t linear—it was shaped by curiosity.

‍
I started my career in business and marketing roles (British Council, Rai Foundation), learning how organisations create value from the outside in. But I found myself increasingly drawn to a deeper question: what truly drives how people think, connect, and make decisions—and why some teams translate that into better outcomes than others, even with similar resources?

‍
That question led me into talent advisory, working with organisations like KornFerry, Manpower Inc and WalkWater Talent Advisors. Over the years, I partnered with founders and leadership teams on hiring and organisation building during moments that truly mattered—scale, transition, and reinvention.

‍
At Kalaari Capital, that journey has come full circle. I now work at the intersection of people, culture, and investing—helping build Kalaari as an institution, while also partnering closely with founders to shape the teams and cultures that will define their companies over the long term.

‍

Perspective

Across organisations—regardless of size, stage, or industry, one pattern consistently stands out to me: people build organisations. The quality of talent, and how effectively it is enabled, often becomes the defining factor in how organisations grow, adapt, and endure over time.

What fascinates me most is how individuals think, connect, and make decisions together.

‍
In today’s environment, culture cannot be viewed as a by-product of growth; it is a strategic asset that needs to be nurtured intentionally. I also believe that mindset, learning agility, and the ability to evolve often matter more than experience alone. As businesses transform rapidly, people strategy too must continuously evolve alongside them.
‍
Ultimately, strong organisations are built when talent, culture, and decision-making remain deeply aligned—and when that alignment is reinforced consistently through clarity, trust, and shared ownership.

Lesson from my journey
We have an almost unlimited capacity to underestimate ourselves, and my hope is simply to help people dream big often far beyond what they initially believe is possible.
