Lesson from my journey

Listen first. The most important signals come from those closest to it. Back the team as much as the idea. Talent is necessary but not sufficient. The founders who scale are those who know how to mentor the people around them, build performance cultures, and stay magnetic to exceptional individuals through uncertainty. Simplicity compounds. Every meaningful decision I have made - product, people, capital, has benefited from returning to fundamentals. Complexity rarely creates value; it usually conceals the absence of it. Foresight is earned, not given. Understanding where technology is heading before the market does is the product of sustained curiosity, intellectual honesty, and a willingness to act on an early conviction before proof arrives.

Venture Partner
Philosophy

I believe that ordinary people, trusted and nurtured, deliver extraordinary outcomes. The leader's role is to create the conditions for that to happen - by listening carefully, setting clear direction, and staying close to first principles when everything else becomes noise.

‍

Great companies are not built on complexity. They are built on a few things done exceptionally well, understood deeply, and communicated simply. That conviction has guided every venture I have built and every founder I have backed.

‍

Journey

Over three decades, I have worked at the leading edge of technology, as a corporate executive, founder, and as an investor. As part of the founding executive team at Cognizant, and subsequently as Chief of Digital at HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra, I led businesses spanning mobile, big data, and multi-channel integration, managing large P&Ls across global geographies.

‍

A defining chapter was architecting India's pan-national 108 Emergency and Health Management platform, a mission-critical system built with Cisco, delivering emergency healthcare at scale across the country.

‍

I have co-founded and scaled ventures, with two of them at the intersection of healthcare and technology. Most recently, as CTO of Neurowyzr, an AI-powered digital mental health platform backed by Peak Partners and Jungle Ventures, I experienced first-hand, what it means to build from zero, earn trust from scratch, and win in a competitive global market.

‍

At Kalaari Capital, I work alongside founders in helping them sharpen their edge, enable growth through GTM strategies, protect their IP, and scale with conviction.

‍

Perspective

As an avid cricket fan, I find that the life of every startup is analogous to a T20 match. Each quarter is like 90 minutes of play. The founder and members are like the leader and team, who can focus on the 306090 day tasks, carry the team along and adapt constantly without losing sight of the target.

‍

Technology shifts do not announce themselves. I have spent my career learning to see them early - in mobility, in SMAC, in AI, and to build revenue streams around them before the market reaches consensus. That ability to read the horizon, combined with a fundamental belief in the people closest to the work, is what I bring to every engagement.

‍

India is at a rare inflection point. Its technical talent is world-class. Its unsolved problems are its largest market opportunities. The founders who will define the next decade are those building on deep, proprietary IP, not just on distribution.

‍

Lesson from my journey
We have an almost unlimited capacity to underestimate ourselves, and my hope is simply to help people dream big often far beyond what they initially believe is possible.
