Managing the financial backbone of a venture firm is work that demands both rigour and trust. Numbers tell a story, but it takes judgment to interpret that story in a way that serves founders, investors, and the institution. What genuinely drives my work is the belief that strong financial governance is not a constraint on ambition, it is what makes ambition sustainable. I take pride in building systems and relationships that create clarity, especially in moments of uncertainty.
With over three decades of experience spanning banking, manufacturing, and venture capital, I have had the privilege of seeing how different kinds of organisations create and protect value. I joined Kalaari in its earliest years and have spent close to two decades helping build the firm from the ground up. That longevity has given me a deep familiarity with our portfolio, our investors, and the rhythms of the Indian startup ecosystem. Over time, my role has grown from financial oversight to a broader partnership with the investment team, contributing to committee discussions, and supporting exit readiness.
Classical music has been a lifelong companion, and I find that the discipline it requires, the patience, the attention to detail, the ability to sit with complexity, mirrors what good financial stewardship asks of you. I also enjoy the occasional film, which serves as a useful reminder that great storytelling, like great investing, requires both structure and intuition.
