Consumer technology is where I believe some of the most transformative work of the next decade will happen in India - and the AI era is making it possible to build products that are simultaneously deeply personal and massively scalable. I am drawn to the early stage precisely because that is where the creativity and the chaos are highest, and where a differentiated point of view can still be formed before the market catches up. I look for founders who understand their user at an almost anthropological level and are building products with a genuine right to win - not just a first-mover advantage.
Before joining Kalaari two years ago, I worked at Zomato across Growth, P&L, and Strategy, where I helped food-tech startups think through GTM strategy and business growth. That experience gave me a close-up view of how consumer internet companies scale in India - what drives early retention, how unit economics evolve, and where the real compounding happens. I have four and a half years of overall professional experience and currently focus on next-generation consumer tech, including entertainment, media, gaming, commerce, and productivity tools being rebuilt in the AI era. I spend most of my time studying vertical AI use cases and speaking with founders in Consumer Tech, Consumer AI, Gaming, and Fintech.
One of the most consistent mistakes I see is founders building overly generalised products in the hope that broad reach translates to broad adoption. The teams that break out do the opposite - they counter-position clearly, deliver disproportionate value to a narrow wedge, and expand only after earning the right to. Outside of work, I love playing and watching football, lifting weights, and exploring new restaurants and bars.
