The challenge of institutionalising a firm that transcends beyond individuals and builds a legacy is so exciting and fulfilling. Kalaari is one such opportunity.
Building a VC firm is like running a marathon. The bets you take at early stage venture funding delivers over time, and we have to do it consistently. Investors trust you with capital, and the primary responsibility is to build a track record of returning capital. Kalaari has been one such firm, with a twenty years track record, and now in its next trajectory of growth and institutionalising of the firm. Individuals and their skills in an ever-changing technology investing is an amazing challenge to build, nurture and sustain. My role is to build that team and the excitement of investing and delivering for the founders and investors alike.
Starting as a door to door salesman of a very visible and successful brand to work across multiple industries, business cycles, and geographies has been a tremendous learning and contributing journey. The richness of experience that I have been able to gather helps me advise with depth, wisdom and patience that early stage investing requires. Having built new age brands and enterprises provides the impetus for speed in scaling firms and insights on talent required for doing the same.
I have learnt that building and scaling businesses requires tremendous passion and resilience. My experiences across business cycles and transformation journeys,, cultures, closely working with smart leaders and entrepreneurs and their teams keeps me challenged and motivated. I am very excited to participate in building firms that build the future for India
