The Ovenfresh Story
Ovenfresh initial description should change: Ovenfresh runs Eatfresh which provides meals across different cuisines from high quality chefs. Eatfresh allows customers to place orders digitally and delivers at their doorstep, great food cooked by chefs. Ovenfresh also runs a bakery QSR chain which is highly process driven and offers freshly baked products in a modern retail format.

Recipe for success
A startup must serve the right market at the right time. Warren Buffet said, “Markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent,” so it is very important that you are solving customer problems and building businesses in large markets that are in a high-growth phase in terms of consumers and capital. This, in my view, is the most important thing a startup should do. The rest of it is a mix of resilience, temperament, team building and luck.
Your unique idea
We are building a marketplace for great meals from top chefs. The food tech space as a whole is at a nascent stage, and we have invested in building innovative technology and processes that allow us to deliver fresh, high quality food to our customers through a digital platform.
Partnership with Kalaari
It has been a couple of years, and I must say it’s been great to work with the Kalaari team. They brought to the table an enjoyable balance of partner, mentor and coach. Rajesh has supported us all the way, and his insights – based on his multi-faceted experience and deep market knowledge – have added incalculable value to me as an entrepreneur and to us as a company.
Your first meeting
When we first met Kalaari, we had built a profitable, growing business from a bootstrapped start with no external investment. We were excited to meet with Rajesh and the team, and my primary concern was whether we would be able to continue to operate with independence and self-expression, because those were my primary motivations for starting Ovenfresh. From the very first meeting till today, they’ve demonstrated that my concerns were completely unfounded, and the maturity and wisdom of the team at Kalaari has given us room and wings to grow.
